All add-ons are consistently being enhanced with awesome new features, so it's always a good idea for users to make sure their PowerPack add-ons are up to date. Updating an add-on is quick and easy! Simply follow the below steps for your version of Dynamics 365
Updating Add-ons in Dynamics 365 Online - Versions 9.0 and above
If your D365 environment is 9.0 or above and is online, you will want to download and upgrade the add-on directly from app-source.
AppSource is point and click from the web or directly from the solutions area in D365.
Once the marketplace is open, search for the add-on you are wanting to download, and click on Free trial.
Validate the below information, accept the terms, and then click Continue.
Once you click on Agree, the solution will start importing. Note that you will not see any import options like you would when downloading the solution from the PowerObjects website. When the import is done, you will see the updated version in your Dynamics 365 solutions area:
Updating Add-ons in Dynamics 365 On-Premise or in Online Versions 8.2 and below
If your Dynamics 365 environment is on-premises, or if it is online but a version 8.2 or below, you will want to follow the below upgrade path via the PowerObjects website:
Note: Choosing to Overwrite customizations will only overwrite any back-end plugins that may have been updated since the previous version was installed.
* Depending on what version you are upgrading from and to, you may get additional import options. If that is the case, you will want to select the below options:
4.) Once the import has completed navigate back to the solutions list and double click on the PowerPack you just imported to open the configuration. Here you may be asked to clean up the components of the solution. If prompted, select ok.
5.) Once the clean-up has completed, select Submit to re-sync your registration with the PowerObjects registration system and you are done!
